Job summary
Amazon's Brand Registry enables brands to protect their intellectual property while unlocking access a suite to tools to help grow their business. We have over half a million brands enrolled in Brand Registry, offering billions of products to Amazon customers. Brand Registry team owns systems and software that are foundational to enabling these protections and benefits including Brand enrollment, IP data storage and validation (trademarks, design marks, copyrights etc.), abuse prevention (stopping bad actors from harming brands, selling partners and customers), brand identity and access management and accurate mapping of products in Amazon's catalog to brands in Brand Registry.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program manager (TPM) who is customer-focused, enjoys working on complex technical problems with very talented colleagues, has a growth mindset and a passion for technology and building scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong program management background, has experience leading large projects, and has a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, your responsibilities will include writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. You will lead and coordinate design and implementation efforts, coordinating across multiple teams to develop optimal solutions. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, focus on engineering & operational excellence and leadership are essential to success in this role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical program management experience
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Bachelor€™s degree in Computer Science or similar major
  • 5+ years in a software engineering role
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and deliver complex, successful web services and/or customer experiences efficiently
  • Proven team leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to get things done

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • · A Master's Degree in Computer Science
  • · A history of working in start-ups and fast paced environments handling multiple, competing priorities
  • · Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
  • · Proven track record in researching, developing and shipping software solution.
  • · Industry experience with one of more of the following domains: Large-scale distributed systems, web technologies, mobile development.
