Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division has an opening for a **Sr. Principal Hybrids Component Engineer** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Creating and maintaining part & process specifications to design, procure, assemble and install high reliability hermetic and non-hermetic Hybrid Microcircuits primarily to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K, H, L and F.
+ Assist design engineering with proper part selection and application.
+ Participate in resolving design, manufacturing or supplier technical issues.
+ Support anomaly investigations and failure analysis.
+ Create test plans and procedures.
+ Create and deliver briefings to update the team and management.
+ Support Design Engineering, Procurement, Integration & Test, and Production.
+ Demonstrate understanding with analog and digital circuits.
+ Demonstrate understanding with the usage of discrete active/passive components and microcircuits (ICs).
+ Demonstrate understanding with DC-DC Converter design topologies, Oscillator design topologies.
+ Demonstrate understanding with hybrid thick film, thin film and assembly module designs, materials, layouts, design rules and active/passive trims.
+ Support Hybrid manufacturing processes (including wire-bonding, epoxy/eutectic attach) and manufacturing flows.
+ Support and participate in Hybrid Element Evaluation, hybrid in-line screening, Groups A, B, C and D testing, hybrid qualification, HCAs (Hybrid Construction Analysis), DPAs (Destructive Physical Analysis).
+ Support STEs, test setups auto and manual, fixturing, test programs and procedures, equipment calibration.
+ Support and participate with various hybrid design analysis such as Stress, Derating, Thermal, Worst Case Analysis (WCA), Radiation/RLAT.
+ Support and participate with reviews and acceptance of all supplier manufacturing drawing and PIDs (Product Identification Document).

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 9 years of engineering experience ; **OR** Masters Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 7 years of engineering experience.
+ Experience in parts, materials and process selection, manufacturing support, failure analysis or processing of materials for space hardware
+ Knowledge in the following MIL standard documents: MIL-PRF-38534 for Hybrids, MIL-STD-1580 for DPA, MIL-PRF-38535 for Microcircuits (ICs), MIL-PRF-19500 for Semiconductor Devices or TOR-2006(8583)
+ Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access
**Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Masters of Science Degree in STEM( Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field
+ Experience with hybrids MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-PRF-55310, MIL-STD-M883, NASA EEE-INST-002, MIL-STD-975M, MIL-STD-1547B.
+ Hands on design and manufacturing experience of Hybrid Microcircuits
+ Active, in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI access
Salary Range: $125,800.00 - $188,600.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
