Amazon€™s mission is to be the earth€™s most customer-centric company. We are looking for a smart, ambitious and strategic business leader to join Amazon€™s Global Pension Compliance team. As a leader, you will build and manage a team of pension professionals. Your team will work with Amazon€™s legal, tax, benefits, compensation, HR shared services, technology and operational teams to design, implement, administer and test the organization€™s global pension programs to ensure compliance obligations are met around the world.

You will be responsible for setting the global corporate governance and framework strategy and roadmap, oversight and assessment of global compliance risk, assessing the global retirement program operations/administration, oversight of global investments and fee structures, and ensuring continuous program design and service enhancements that deliver an excellent employee experience around the world in partnership with local Benefit teams. This role will be responsible for developing and presenting program recommendations to executive leadership, and ensure approved changes are implemented in a timely manner. This role will also develop solutions for greater cost efficiencies, scalability and process improvements.

The ideal candidate for this leadership role should be able to work independently, be innovative, and seek positive change in a dynamic environment. We are seeking someone with a demonstrated history of successfully owning and managing large, complex problems and engaging with cross-functional teams, and numerous stakeholders, directly and through influence. Strong project management skills are required, plus a proven ability to help design and implement tools/processes are critical to the success in this role.

Specific responsibilities will include:
· Earn and maintain business partners€™ trust as a thought leader and through leadership of a team of subject matter experts.
· Identify, design and establish a global framework for a corporate governance structure and committee level advisement.
· Ensure local plans are administered in compliance with plan documents and applicable regulations.
· Support local Benefit Managers with overall plan design and strategic initiatives (e.g., Plan Design or Benefit Committee Proposals)
· Partner with key stakeholders globally to provide information and guidance on new or changing laws/regulation/business practices.
· Participate in and/or lead local RFI/RFPs in conjunction with local Benefit Managers and other internal business stakeholders (payroll, HR services, finance, accounting, legal, tax).
· Establish cadence for monitoring program and plan level costs.
· Advise on current trends and global best operational practices.
· Monitor jurisdictional regulations, evaluate risks and recommend actions.
· Monitor known and emerging risks, measure internal control effectiveness, and work with business/support teams to develop action items to remediate identified risks.
· Research issues, learn and become adept in Amazon systems and tools to aid in resolving issues.
· Lead and coach a geographically dispersed team.
· Able to travel up to 20%, as necessary.


Basic qualifications:
· 10+ years professional or military experience in HR, compliance management.
· 5+ years people management experience.
· Experienced in employee retirement/pensions administration.
· Experienced building cross-functional partnerships and influencing cross-organizational leadership without administrative ownership.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the proven ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate and communicate with business partners and teams
· Bachelor€™s degree or equivalent professional experience


Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced degree in a related area (MBA or JD).
· Experienced working with HR data and reports including analyzing applicant data.
· Strong business judgment and a practical, common sense approach to solving complex problems.
· Flexibility, sharp organizational and process-oriented skills, and a self-starting work ethic.
· Experience developing policies and supporting documentation.
· Strong analytical and data gathering skills (including Excel and database analysis).
· Demonstrated passion for delivering a great customer experience.
· Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
· Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communications.
