SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Assist the Mgr, Engineering Production in the day-to-day operations of the Structures Department to include maintenance and construction of bridges and buildings.


  • Responsible for the compliance with FRA, local and national codes for construction and maintenance of bridges and buildings.
  • Plan bridge and building construction phases from the beginning to the end of new construction.
  • Coordinate and schedule all work activity for major track outages with C&S/ET, Track and the Transportation Department to accomplish work schedules.
  • Schedule B&B employees technical training, safety training and safety compliance training.
  • Schedule required physical exams of B&B employees.
  • Distribution of all B&B related information letters to required personnel.


  • Demonstrated knowledge of railroad operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts with other technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and estimating.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of BMWE and ARASA labor agreements, MSDS, FRA Regulations, RWP, NORAC, AMT 2, planning and scheduling, Project Management.
  • Demonstrated computer experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of employees.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • 4-6 years relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.


  • Demonstrated hands on experience in Bridge and Building construction and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated Project Management and Planning/Scheduling experience.
  • 8+ years relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge knowledge of OSHA, specifically fall protection.
  • Knowledge of steel and concrete design and implementation.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
