We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join Citis flagship Payment Express initiative. Ideal candidate is a passionate and hands-on engineer with experience running reliable services at scale while leveraging industry observability and automation platforms. In this role you will get an opportunity to bring fresh ideas, demonstrates your unique and informed viewpoint while collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences at every interaction.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Configure and tune the observability platforms we use to streamline alerting and proactive issue identification.

+ Partner with multiple development and support teams to gather and analyze toils and automate as new features are added to the platform.

+ Expand performance and load testing capability to better simulate real production use.

+ Perform root cause analysis owning actionable follow-ups.

+ Measure and optimize system performance setting proper metrics and SLAs/SLOs

+ Mange risk and control activities across the platform and team

+ Implement best practices when it comes to availability, scalability, production resiliency and efficiency, using data driven analysis techniques


**Essential Skills:**


+ 3+ SRE and operational role running a large enterprise platform.

+ 5+ years of software development experience (Java/Python).

+ Experience on Log aggregation & APM tools. (Splunk/ElasticSearch, AppDynamics and Glassbox)

+ Expertise with monitoring and observability technologies like Prometheus, Grafana and open telemetry

+ Experience with Service Oriented Architecture applications and cloud-based services, preferably AWS.


**Desired Skills:**


+ Experience with Sql/NoSql databases like Oracle, MongoDB

+ Experience with distributed tracing Spring Cloud Sleuth or Zipkins - Familiarity with standard web application and microservice concepts.

+ Prior experiences with DevOps CI/CD tools like Git and Jenkins.

+ Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software. Experience analyzing data to drive decisions.


**Education:**


+ Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experience
