We are currently seeking a Shipping and Inventory Associate who will monitor and facilitate the flow and storage of merchandise. This position will provide daily assistance with all shipping and receiving needs, including working with parcel carriers, merchandise condition assessment, and safe packaging and transport of luxury goods. This is a rare opportunity to work for an incredible company that has acquired and sold some of the world's most important and extraordinary antiques, works of art and jewelry.

This position pays $18/hour working Monday Friday 8:30 to 5:00 with some Saturday work required.

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for handling, transporting, and displaying art and antiques in a large modern gallery
  2. Coordinate the condition review, packing, and shipping of highly delicate goods
  3. Usage of shipping software for label creation and delivery needs
  4. Handle requests for shipment quotes and submit findings
  5. Organize queues for outbound products
  6. Update merchandise movement through gallery software
  7. Perform regular checks on inventory and review condition reports
  8. Understand and continually learn inventory repair needs and maintenance
  9. Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.


Experience/Training/Education

Required

  • Associates degree or equivalent education
  • 1+ years shipping and/or inventory experience
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient in Salesforce, Quip, and other business specific software
  • Some antique restoration knowledge preferred

Knowledge/Skills

  • Capable of promoting teamwork within the department and in coordination with other departments
  • Read, speak and write English with math knowledge to count delivered shipped finished goods and bill of lading/receivers
  • Must be organized, detailed oriented, thorough, self-motivated, disciplined, flexible, patient and possess spontaneous decision capabilities
  • Self-management, initiative and individual judgment is expected
  • Skills in organizing and scheduling assets
  • Strong abstract and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and good organizational skills
  • Understanding of data analytics to find efficiencies and opportunities for growth

Work Environment
This is a physically demanding position with employees working mostly in a gallery environment but occasionally in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

The following are needed to perform the essential functions of the position which include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to raise or lower objects from one level or another (includes pushing and pulling) up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to frequently walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to read documents for general understanding (correspondence/memos).
  • Ability to read documents for analytical purposes, reading for high degree of accuracy (contracts/technical reports).
  • Ability to view video display terminals (VTD) for extended periods of time.
  • Advanced application of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination is also required.
