About The Role:

ARC is searching for a Senior Manager, Operations Engineering to join our team. In this role, you will architect an operational approach for the product and service level to limit the mean time to resolution of any operational failure. You will provide leadership to managers and employees, while implementing a strategic roadmap to improve the maturity model to reduce the duration of outages. You will develop and continue to enhance the capabilities of the Operations Team in the support of ARC's on premise and cloud technologies with continuous process improvement. This includes the Current State Support teams, as well as the Data Center, and the new Operations Engineering teams. You will work closely with Site Reliability Engineers and Solution Architects to ensure that ARC's technologies are engineered in a recoverable and measurable way.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Be accountable for the design and implementation of Operations Team functions, processes, protocols and procedures. Establish a vision for the Operations Team that focuses on ensuring the environment has documented recovery procedures and automation to reduce any outage duration. Transform the Operations Team from traditional model support, to an agile product support function.
  • Be accountable for Tier 1 support of ARC's on premise and cloud technologies. Partner with Site Reliability Engineers to establish telemetry by dashboards, scripts or webpages to determine application / data flow behaviors and health.
  • Implement and align across the organization on a method for incident ownership and tracking. Identify responsibilities and build capabilities. Generate scripts and templates that allow the incidents to be addressed consistently and quickly.
  • Partner with Platform and Site Reliability Engineers to review consumption of cloud resources continually looking for efficiencies.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and techniques. Continually evaluate the landscape for ways to leverage the latest technologies and techniques for continuous improvement.


You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field / Equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of a leadership role
  • 3+ years of experience of operational support for cloud native applications
  • 3+ years of a DevOps / Scrum culture
  • Proven ability to lead a group through operational improvements that reduce mean time to resolution
  • Functional knowledge of Lean, the 5S pillars and six sigma
  • Experience with aligning operational tactics that match a recovery strategy
  • Experience leading technical teams to mentor and guide multiple-disciplined technical teams
