  • ​This job is a member of the Member Engagement Team within the Loyalty (AAdvantage) Organization, part of the Revenue Division.
  • Responsible for leading the strategy for partner business development and the growth/direction of current partners (Car, Hotel, Retail, etc.) and key mileage products such as Buy, Gift, Transfer and Order AAmiles. More broadly, in conjunction with other internal stakeholders, responsible for American Airlines’ third-party partnership strategic alignment and revenue generated via customer impressions of partners in AA channels and member interactions with partner products/services by fully leveraging strategic, analytical, creative and relationship skills.

What you'll do

  • Selects, leads, coaches and develops a team of Account Management and Coordinator professionals responsible for reaching revenue and member attachment targets.
  • Influences all stakeholders internally and externally to ensure American Airlines’ loyalty program AAdvantage delivers the optimal member attachment products and programs in the marketplace.
  • Uses solid commercial knowledge and acumen to collaborate on joint strategies with key partner departments; including, AAV, Corporate Communications, Digital, IFE, Marketing, Premium Services, and Revenue Analysis among others.
  • Leverages solid understanding of the airline and loyalty industries to innovate and deliver a unique value proposition that differentiates AAdvantage in the marketplace for the benefit of members and American Airlines.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • 7 years related work experience (at least 3 years in partner/client Relationship Management experience and 2 years experience in a Supervisory/Management role)
  • Previous financial reporting and project management experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Master’s degree
  • 3 years of experience in an airline commercial department

  • Demonstrated history of caring for all team members 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments, business units, vendors and contractors with skillful negotiation skills and generation of win-win strategies through effective influencing
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement as well as proven success implementing strategic initiatives under time constraints
  • Ability to quickly distill complex data sets to uncover insights, work through scenarios and drive action
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Open and collaborative mindset
  • Knowledge of managing an operating budget with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to deliver key corporate messages across all workgroups
  • Ability to take initiative to act upon and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
