Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will work with key college, program or administrative managers to create annual budgets, prepare forecasts, prepare and monitor financial results, and finance representative to delegated college or administrative units.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide applicable and timely financial analysis/reporting as a strategic aid in decision making support, including predefined performance indicators and benchmarks.
  • Assist in preparing and analyze all internal/external financial reporting
  • Develop routine updates to multi-year operating, capital, and investment plans
  • Analyze cash activities and prepare projections as scheduled for asset planning
  • Create and utilize financial sensitivity models for projections
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets; monitor results; investigate variances; communicate/present activity to budget administrators; evaluate for corrective measures and opportunities
  • Provide fiscal training and service support to budget administrators regarding best practices, reporting, and related technical applications/software
  • Execute financial or planning projects of diverse natures and complexities with limited supervision by formulating objectives and theories or making suitable judgments where necessary
  • Perform other financial analyst duties as assigned

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or equivalent work experience
  • Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check

  • Maintain current knowledge in financial, budgeting, forecasting practices and procedures
  • Effective technical, analytical, research, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Advanced strategic planning, policy development, and risk management
  • Superb interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Works positively and effectively across a diverse group of constituents
  • Proven team player who is highly motivated

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Experience in a health care of University environment
