Job Description:

The Research and Web Content Officer supports administration of major research projects implemented by the Research, Evaluation & Learning (REL) Unit, including Open Doors, Project Atlas and the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (IFP) Alumni Tracking Study. The Officer supports research tasks related to these projects, including data collection and administration, data cleaning and analysis, and working with data to create graphics and visualizations. Oversees regular maintenance of Open Doors, Project Atlas, and IFP websites, including updating and generating new content. Work with IIE's research and evaluation data to create graphics and communicate information to multiple IIE stakeholders, in particular for program deliverables and outcomes, research and thought leadership products. Presents graphics and visualizations in various forms, including reports, presentation decks, infographics, and webpages.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports data administration of key research data, including maintaining databases and data outreach lists, updating and uploading outreach lists for study participants, contributes to the improvement and refinement of data administration protocols.
  • Coordinates data collection for research surveys, including initial outreach, regular follow-up and reminders to ensure high response rates.
  • Supports post-data collection activities, including data cleaning and analysis as appropriate.
  • Drafts content and graphics from research data in various formats and for internal and external products, including infographics, charts, fact sheets, PowerPoint representations and reports, and webpages, for a range of audiences.
  • Drafts content and updates graphics on Open Doors, Project Atlas, and IFP websites and liaises with other team members in Research, Evaluation and Learning to post data in a user-friendly manner.
  • Oversees regular updating and maintenance of Open Doors, Project Atlas, and IFP websites, liaising with external teams to REL to build new elements and ensure that the sites are functioning.
  • Conducts desk research, literature reviews, and other tasks as assigned in support of larger research and evaluation projects.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.
  • Requires at least two years of related work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, social sciences or related field strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the international higher education field or the U.S. higher education sector, as indicated by previous work experience or coursework.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency creating and designing data graphics with industry-standard software such as Tableau, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, or PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in Sitecore, Word Press, HTML, Java or other web content software for webpage upload and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate across a wide range of internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to successfully implement simultaneous projects and competing demands in a fast-paced work environment.

Essential functions are performed in a general office setting with low noise.
