SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Program Manager is responsible for delivery of large scale moderate to high risk programs, with multimillion dollar cost impacts and multi-year delivery schedule. The programs may encompass multiple projects, cross-departmental interfaces, multiple technologies, geographies and assets. Individuals in this role work independently with some indirect supervision PMO Director or AVP, and may have either direct reports or matrixed subordinate team members. The role requires regular analytical and metrics-based reporting to other staff, Executive Committee, and stakeholders.
The Program Manager will report to the Digital Technology, Customer Experience & Marketing IT Services group and will primarily oversee programs that impact Amtrak's customer-facing digital channels including Amtrak.com and the Amtrak mobile-app. The Program Manager will oversee the Agile development and deployment lifecycle for new and existing programs and work with IT business stakeholders to ensure programs meet Amtrak's goals and objectives and are delivered in accordance with Amtrak's development and testing methodologies. The Program Manager is responsible for owning all aspects of program performance, proactively anticipating and resolving issues, and providing metrics-based analytics and reports. The Program Manager will also be responsible for the budgeting and accuracy process for all assigned programs. Individuals in this role work independently with some indirect supervision on matrixed subordinate team members.
