Overview

This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager. The primary responsibilities of this role are to manage the execution of the demand plan for assigned finished product lines and components required to support final assembly, meeting customer delivery and inventory performance objectives. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Sourcing to expedite direct materials from suppliers and ensure a quality product is consistently delivered on-time and in-full to support world class delivery performance objectives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning team to interpret changes in demand and create master schedules over a medium term production horizon.
  • Finite production planning, by scheduling manufacturing work centers using best practice supply chain management principles and techniques to achieve internal and outbound fill rate and inventory goals.
  • Participate in cost trade off scenarios with Purchasing, Sourcing, and Supply Planning to efficiently manage the overall movement of freight where costs and service are optimized.
  • Partner with Demand Planning to generate accurate, SKU-level forecasts by executing collaborative planning forecasting and replenishment techniques and set system parameters and master data to drive on-time and in-full delivery while optimizing inventory.
  • Represent the factory on New Product Development (NPD) teams as it relates to master data set-up and stock builds in support of new product introductions.
  • Develop strategies and use knowledge based management principles to monitor supplier performance to continuously improve reliability of deliveries for execution excellence in production schedule attainment.
  • Regularly analyze inventory accuracy, inventory efficiency, safety stock settings, and days on hand to ensure the supply chain is optimized.
  • Fully utilize the MSA Operating System to correctly identify root causes of problems and drive corrective action plans.
  • Special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Clear and effective written and oral communication
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Persuasive interpersonal relationship skills
  • Extensive experience in the use of Excel, along with proficiency with Word and PowerPoint
  • Domestic and International sourcing experience


Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Management or related field

This position is available at three different career levels based upon education and experience:

  • Level one: no experience required
  • Level two: 4 years of planning, transportation, logistics and/or purchasing experience
  • Level three: 6 years of planning, transportation, logistics and/or purchasing experience

Preferred:

  • CPIM or CPM accreditation
  • MBA
  • Source planning with MSA affiliates
  • Experience with SAP for production planning and control
