Vetsource's Data Engineering team is focused on making better products using production data. We want to use data to help veterinarians serve their clients and provide for healthier pets.

As part of this effort, we are looking to further develop a cloud-based enterprise data warehouse, data lake, and the capabilities and tools to support our expanding analytics and product needs. As a Product Manager, you will partner with Engineering teams, Product teams, Business Intelligence teams, and Business Partners to establish a common vision and create the roadmap for data sharing and cross-platform integration.

You will partner with other product teams and external partners to provide services empowering new product capabilities from data. You will help us to develop transformational capabilities to deliver data-driven insights and data flows to our customers and stakeholders.

Essential Duties:

  • Ability to create and get the organization excited about the data vision

  • Create traction in the organization by defining strategies, measurements, and execute key tactics.

  • Constantly evaluating risk

  • Own the data product roadmap and prioritize opportunities based on business impact.

  • Discover needs and problems from downstream data consumers, engineering, and business functions

  • Work closely with the Engineering team to explore problems and associated solutions.

  • Prioritize the work of the team to create the best outcomes

  • Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making by ensuring optimal data accessibility, performance, and integrity through well-scoped data initiatives.

  • Collaborate with product teams to create data services for other products to utilize

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5+ year of Product Management experience in a data environment

  • Experience working closely with engineering, managing backlogs and trade-offs, outlining technical details, and delivering outcomes

  • Experience in building out a data strategy or framework for many different downstream use cases.

  • Ability to convey complex requirements in a clear, concise, and credible manner

  • Strong prioritization and project management skills, including timely and proactive communications of timelines, status, issue partner concern

  • Deep analytical abilities, strong creative thinking, curious business and technical mentality, and an ability to drive action

  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to self-audit work

  • Perform root cause and impact analysis to investigate data issues and make recommendations for potential solutions

  • Leadership skills to influence partners and see projects through to timely completion in an agile environment

  • Familiarity with web analytics and marketing optimization preferred; previous experience with instrumentation and A/B testing a plus

  • Experience delivering large, complex projects from end-to-end


  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of product management, engineering, or analyst experience

  • 5+ years' experience developing data solutions, sourcing, cleaning, and integrating data from various sources, and building data analysis tools and applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in SQL languages, Python, R

  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with big data and traditional database technologies

  • Strong quantitative skills, experience analyzing large datasets

  • Animal Health Care Industry experience
