Job summary
We are looking for an entrepreneurial product leader to own the end-to-end shopper experience of books advertising. In this role, you will partner with machine learning experts, designers, data scientists, engineers, researchers, and marketing managers, across Amazon Ads, Amazon Books, and other organizations to define and execute the roadmap to build engaging shopper-facing products in the books advertising space.

Amazon Advertising helps businesses and brands of all sizes grow by engaging customers with inspiring, useful, relevant ads and messaging about their products and services.

This position can be based in New York City, Toronto, Seattle, Arlington, or Santa Monica.

Key job responsibilities
As the product leader for the sponsored ads book shopper experience, you partner with engineering, science, and design to articulate and execute the strategy and roadmap for improving the performance and customer experience for both our advertisers and our shoppers. You experiment, launch, and ramp features worldwide. You own the P&L and grow revenue for your area of ownership, while maintaining a high customer experience bar. You own go-to-market strategy and partner with marketing on plans to drive adoption of the product improvements you deliver. You drive research efforts to increase and validate the team's understanding of customer needs, and build mechanisms to process and respond to inbound customer feedback. You set the long-term vision for performance advertising across the strategic Books category, while maintaining a high velocity of experimentation and consistent launch cadence. You define and monitor key business metrics and adapt short- and long-term plans based on insights you continuously derive from the data. You represent your business in reviews with senior leadership and key stakeholders across Amazon.

About the team
The Books Ads team exists to launch, accelerate, and differentiate the advertising business for the publishing category. We own the end-to-end advertising experience for readers, shoppers, publishers, and authors, including ad supply, ad creative, ad serving, and the user experience for books populations. With a broad mandate to experiment and innovate, we are growing fast to pursue a range of new opportunities.


  • 8+ years of technical product management, program management or engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7+ years of experience in e-commerce, technology or digital sector including 5+ years of product management experience
  • Demonstrable experience in technical product management
  • Experience in online advertising, analytics, and/or data science/machine learning
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines
  • Ability to establish and manage your business to a set of key metrics and goals


  • MBA or MS
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience engaging and influencing senior executives
  • A proven track record of building new, innovative, and engaging customer experiences informed by customer data from various sources (market research, internal data bases, A/B testing, user research)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • Experience delivering products for a global customer base
