What you will do / what is the role

The Outbound Product Manager will take the day-to-day lead on post-sale client-to-product fit efforts between Implementation, Solution Design, and Product. Grow to become the "go to person" driving product best practice into Implementation and Client Success.


Summary of what you do:

Partner with and provide guidance to Implementation/Solution Design to evaluate client use cases/requirements with the goal of driving adoption of existing/planned functionality and creating clarity around feature/functional gaps that need to be closed. Ensure clear incoming requirements for all valid feature/functional gaps, and drive buy-in on solutions back into Implementation/Solution Design to ensure solution validity. Ultimately, this role will represent the product (capability, feature, function & best practice) in both current and future state to client-facing partners.


Client Facing/Focus Product representation

  • Be a product SME for multiple parts of the product suite, with a focus in 1-2 areas (e.g. know the breadth of the product capability, but be a true SME for HR or Payroll)
  • Be a "shield" for the core product team by knowing the current product capabilities and upcoming roadmap items
  • Be a virtual member of the product domain teams to ensure the right depth of understanding of the current product capabilities and upcoming roadmap items
  • Be embedded on key (big/complex/important) client Implementation teams for a period of time to ensure client requirements are pre-reviewed and are sane/vetted/directed, and then bring those to core Product teams to drive domain/team/feature level solutioning
  • Help clients directly understand product functionality in partnership with the Implementation and Product teams
  • Review requirements with Implementation/Solution Design to ensure clear and accurate IMPSERVs


Client & Requirements Analysis

  • Review client by client and aggregate requirements to find patterns to bring back to core Product management (sometimes patterns are functionality, sometimes patterns are gaps in process, sometimes patterns are missing data in JIRA)
  • Own the GPT lens picture of a client from the requirements fulfillment perspective


Who you are / what you know

  • General HCM capability & product knowledge required, prefer broad but can be specialized with familiarity & proven aptitude to learn the rest
  • Lifion product knowledge preferred, including product capabilities and usage
  • ADP product knowledge preferred
  • HCM competition (non-ADP products) capabilities and offering knowledge preferred
  • Product Management / "why" mindset, with a bend towards problem understanding before solutioning
  • Product Management experience nice to have but not required (need to know how to work with product management, not necessarily have been a product manager)
