The
Configuration and Data Management (CDM)
organization is responsible for ensuring our products are under configuration control and delivered on time.
The CDM Organization consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.
Disciplines in the CDM organization participate in the life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.
The CDM organization is comprised of Hardware Configuration Management and Integrated Design Check (CM/IDC), Software Configuration Management (SWCM), and Data Management, Engineering Support and Execution (DEX).
The
Configuration Management Department
is looking for an individual to contribute to a fast-paced Engineering Team to work closely with the Office of Chief Engineer and Program Management to provide guidance, support, and solutions to configuration management issues when they arise.
The ideal candidate will have experience in configuration management, strong communication, proven teaming and critical thinking abilities, computer skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to solve complex problems, and a solid competency in project planning.
A working knowledge of PDM systems is a plus.
Position Summary:
The Configuration Management department at Raytheon Missiles and Defense is seeking an individual to fill a
Principal Configuration Analyst position in Tucson, Arizona .
Configuration Management manages the engineering documentation process, including release of engineering changes, in order to meet contractual requirements, and is the foundation that is necessary to ensure that all products are stable and reliable for the warfighter.
The Configuration Analyst will work with the program Integrated Product Teams, Office of the Chief Engineer, and other functional stakeholders in the processing, review, and approval of engineering technical documentation.
As part of this activity, the Configuration Analyst will work closely with Configuration Management leadership to utilize a systems thinking approach to perform analysis on the documentation to provide consistency, traceability, and accurate accounting of the product during its lifecycle.
The Configuration Analyst is responsible for managing the engineering change control process to ensure Raytheon and configuration management policies and standards are met.
Candidate must have a proven record of accomplishment in solving complex problems; have a complete knowledge and understanding of Industry, Government, and Customer, configuration management practices and standards; and must be able to work under general supervision, with minimal guidance and direction on managing and prioritizing their workload.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the coordination and administration of assigned configuration management activities relative to identification, control, verification and accounting for systems and equipment in accordance with contractual requirements
Establish procedures for, and implement the introduction of changes to engineering documents for an assigned program and represent the functional group in the implementation of common processes
Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities
Ensures that customer and internal configuration management requirements are implemented.
Manage change and status accounting activities to ensure compliance with contractual and configuration management policies

Establish and control configuration identification processes and baselines
U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
US Citizenship
Bachelors Degree
Minimum 6 years of experience in Configuration Management
Complete knowledge and understanding of configuration management principles and take an analytical approach to solving complex configuration challenges using configuration management policies, procedures, and tools
Identify potential complex problems associated with technical engineering data, regarding configuration management issues, and take corrective action as needed
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Experience with a Product Data Management (PDM) tool
Desired Skills:

Understanding of technology and computing tools (Product Data Management or PDM tools, SAP or similar)
Solid competency in project planning
Work in a team environment as well as independently
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various engineering disciplines to ensure data integrity and compliance with configuration management policies
Possess the necessary people skills to work effectively with all levels of management and peers
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop and present technical briefings to Leadership
Problem solve and identify impact to other organizations
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
