ADP is hiring a Principal DevOps Architect to be responsible building automated solutions and tools for the DevOps pipeline for all aspects of the agile software development life cycle. He/she will lead and mentor other members of the team to design, develop and automate solutions for ADP's product suites.

Things You'll Do:

  • Influence and implement current and strategic architectural blueprints supporting high availability, scalability.
  • Promote architectural initiatives that drive revenue and improve development efficiency aligned with DevOps strategy.
    Identify key application design patterns and standard application frameworks.
  • Guide initiatives to align with the overall DevOps practices and core operational blueprint and manage the evolution of the application portfolio.
  • Provide design directives to DevOps engineers, including how to construct and integrate software, to meet all functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Establish direction for hosting approaches, including monitoring tools, process, and frameworks.
  • Influence how a solution will be constructed: which existing Solution Building Blocks will be integrated, how they will be integrated and what gaps in capability need to be filled.
  • Leverage the most value from existing investments but commissions new solution building blocks as necessary.
  • Ensure business solutions have an enterprise and strategic perspective but develops locally applied technology where local perspectives are a better fit for purpose.
  • Review implementation to confirm they conform with the strategic direction
  • Hands on experience & expertise in Cloud (AWS, EKS RDS), Containerization (K8S), Orchestration (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Helm Charts), Clustering, CICD tools, etc.
  • Knowledge of Service Mesh/Istio, Hashicorp Vault, etc.
  • Knowledge of API design and implementation (remote vs local APIs, routing and reverse proxying, load balancing, optimization techniques)
  • Hands on knowledge of Unix OS, tuning, command line utilities, virtualization approaches, etc.
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts, microservices
  • Comfortable to operate in an agile, dynamic environment on a global team.

Experience You Need:

  • 10+ years of experience in architecture, designing, and building large scale distributed services-oriented systems.
  • Experience with SOA, Microservices architecture, API Management & Enterprise system Integrations is a must.
  • Proficient with Java/JEE technologies, jQuery, JSON, Angular, MuleSoft, Kafka
  • Hands-on experience with Spring-boot and Spring integrations
  • Experience with cloud migration preferably AWS
  • Deep understand of dashboards and measuring software components to make informed decisions about capacity and infrastructure components
  • Experience with implementing APM solutions (Dynatrace) and log mining tools (Splunk, ELK)
  • Experience with both RDBMS & No-SQL databases such as Mongo or DynamoDB
  • Experience with GIT, Jenkins, Ansible & AWS
  • Experience as a mentor, team lead, influencing others, or related leadership experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment with great collaboration skills
  • Ability to establish relationships with business, IT leaders and technology subject matter experts
  • Ability to lead and work closely with different teams, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate advance problem solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with technical and non-technical personnel at all levels.
