Directs risk management efforts for Financial Market Utilities (Clearing Houses, Payment & Settlement Systems, and Depositories) and customizes solutions using knowledge of best practices and growing industry experience. Coordinates and consults with stakeholders including business lines, legal, operations and other risk disciplines to provide a holistic risk review of FMU. Leverages knowledge of Principles for Financial market Infrastructure (PFMI) when assessing the risk profile of FMU. Uses working knowledge of Regulatory Capital when conducting risk assessments for existing and new businesses. Assesses unique characteristics of FMU market, credit and liquidity risk across multiple asset classes and products. Analyzes post trade life cycle risk of FMU, identifying potential risk. Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of documentation and reporting. Adheres to the risk management strategy of FMUs and develops additional strategies to bring into compliance with complex, regional and global regulatory and policy requirements. Contributes to the global identification of existing and emerging risks that are applicable to FMU and implements solutions. Ensures the proper documentation is completed when strategy changes are made. Independently completes complex analyses of industry, country and counter party credit portfolios and credit portfolio quality. Interacts frequently and independently with senior portfolio managers. Attends and may contribute to meetings with clients, other banks, multi-bank credit facilities and peers within the industry. Anticipates and identifies developing credit issues within FMU and recommends mitigation strategies. Prepares highly complex FMU risk assessments and integrates assessments into portfolio management for the organization's overall credit risk. Manages and provides input on the Credit Risk's policies and procedures. Interprets and analyzes regulatory requirements that may require new or revisions to policy. Directs analyses of existing and proposed legislation, regulatory announcements and industry practices that are applicable to FMU in order to contribute to the organization's development and implementation of procedures to meet existing and upcoming credit management requirements specific to FMU. Contributes to the development of organization-wide projects and programs to improve risk management of FMU. Directs assessments of the effectiveness of current Credit Analysis & Approval/Portfolio Management, Operational Credit Risk, Country Risk or Credit Administration risk identification and mitigation projects and may recommend additional credit risk training within the business. Contributes to the development of discipline-specific education activities, as needed. Uses growing industry experience and knowledge of best practices to contribute to the development of the global strategy for analyzing industry, country and/or counter party credit quality for FMU. Builds familiarity with regional differences and appropriately requests advice from regional subject matter experts, as needed. Uses strong working relationships with global regulators, government officials and management to influence risk management activities for FMU, to ensure the timely delivery of information to regulators and to increase the likelihood of favorable conditions for the organization's credit activities. Directs efforts to design remedial solutions and may assign remediation tasks. Contributes to reports on credit quality and asset value changes for the assigned credit discipline. Analyze and respond to requests for new/changes to credit facilities for FMUs, including credit analysis, underwriting, borrower rating approval and transaction review and approval for credit limits. Contributes to the preparation of credit proposals, preparing documentation and financial spreads. Expertly uses credit systems such as the credit borrower rating system and credit approval system.


Bachelor s degree or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA preferred. Family Requirements: 10-12 years of total work experience preferred. Prior experience/background in credit risk preferred. In addition, may require the following experience/skills based on primary duties: Discipline Requirements: Credit Analysis & Approval/Portfolio Management: Formal credit training preferred. Ability to assist with the management of diverse lending, operating products, attendant risk, foreclosure, bankruptcy and/or OREO assets. Operational Credit Risk: Formal credit training preferred. Experience as an underwriter and assisting with the management of rapid-turnaround, intraday funds transfers and approvals. Country Risk: Formal credit training preferred. Experience with borrower rating systems and tracking methodologies, and basic knowledge of fiscal and financial condition indicators. Credit Administration: Experience as an underwriter and familiarity with credit administration systems typically used by financial institutions. Community Reinvestment Act/Appraisal: Expert-level familiarity with the Community Reinvestment Act and extensive experience conducting complex real estate appraisals.
