US Wealth Management - Full Stack Software Engineer - Java

Job Description

The U.S. Wealth Management business is focused on helping investors achieve their long-term financial goals and is comprised of the Chase Wealth Management, J.P. Morgan Securities and You Invest, our digital investing platform. The combined franchise has ~$400 billion in Assets under Supervision and ~4,000 advisors who work out of 3,500 branches and 21 offices.  The business is highly dynamic given the rapid evolution of customer behavior, presenting both challenges in how we evolve to meet customer needs as well as opportunities in how we serve our customers more efficiently and effectively.

Our platform is used by Advisors to effectively help our clients across Chase Wealth Management, the Private Bank, J.P. Morgan Securities, and our Digital Channel.  As a full stack software engineer on the Wealth Planning and Advice technology team, you will drive innovative solutions to grow our existing platforms while developing new solutions and integrations. You will work with a group of talented engineers in new build efforts to deliver products of the highest standard. Your deep experience in application design, solutions architecting, analytics, development and testing will be required to complement our strategic direction and solve complex problems.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Perform code reviews to ensure delivery of high quality code and to establish that all solutions are aligned to design specifications. As a lead engineer, you will be hands-on and expected to deliver code as well
  • Help us grow our platform with clever, long-lasting solutions that serve to grow our business.
  • Work with a team that develops smart and scalable solutions and provide a solid experience for our users.
  • Be part of a continuous integration process that automates development test suites across multiple applications
  • Provide innovative solutions while following Global Technology best practices
  • Strong coding fundamentals – Algorithms & Data Structures

  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence, along with associate Agile practice
  • Passion for automating & excelling at identifying gaps in processes

  • Ability to communicate effectively between technology & business across groups, locations and cultures

  • Strong bias for action; ability to take ownership and think long-term.

  • Financial Services / Wealth Management industry experience is mandatory ; Wealth Planning, Advice, Goals experience is preferred

  • 5+ years of software development experience delivering enterprise software or client-facing applications

  • BS in Computer Science / Engineering or similar technical degree

  • Knowledge of application, data, infrastructure, and architecture disciplines
  • Proficiency with Java, Angular JS ; Experience with RESTful APIs,  RESTful Applications, Web Services, Spring Boot, Hibernate
  • Working knowledge of the Unix/Linux environment, RDBMS understanding, SQL

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Version Control tools (BitBucket, Git)

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure services, experience with one or more front end development frameworks
  • Typescript and Angular experience is nice to have
  • Working knowledge of the Unix/Linux environment
  • Strong SQL understanding

  • Advanced knowledge of architecture & application design processes.
