Vetsource's Pharmacy team is looking for Pharmacy Technicians who want to learn and grow for years to come. Your role will encompass a variety of activities including; processes work orders to produce monthly dose SKUs, order fulfillment, and vials for various tablets and capsules.

A successful person will be accurate, detail oriented, and hold themselves to a high level of accountability. You will also be able to collaborate with others across departments and be flexible to accomplish fluid priorities.

Part time, Full time, and Seasonal opportunities.

This position is based at our Pharmacy Warehouse near Gresham, OR.

Hours of Operations

M-F 5:00am - 4:00pm

Saturday 6:00am - 3:00pm

Essential Duties:

The workload may be weighted differently in each area and entail a variety of tasks from breaking down large product shipments into smaller units, packaging, filling, and shipping.

Production

  • Build compliance units for top veterinary care products (flea, tick, heartworm preventatives) from bulk packages into individual single unit envelopes
  • Repackage oral dosage forms from bulk bottles into amber vials for dispensing in the pharmacy using pharmacy packaging equipment
  • Package all products with care, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Complete all five stages of Production to meet the Production needs of the Pharmacy and subsequently, our clients.
  • Retain, review, and file production documents in an appropriate time frame with accuracy
  • Work with handheld scanning devices for processing work orders, storing and moving products
  • Place short dated products and/or damaged product in quarantine as appropriate
  • Utilize hand trucks, conveyors, and all packaging equipment with care after training is completed
  • Ensure the safety, cleanliness, and security of the production work environment
  • Participate in all scheduled Pharmacy inventories
  • Assist in recycling efforts for the department
  • Truly embrace change, as more automation is utilized in Production to work more efficiently
  • All other tasks as assigned

Workflow

  • Assist the pharmacist with daily order dispensing in accordance with pharmacy policies and procedures
    • Pull stock to fill and label prescription orders
    • Package and ship orders
  • Assist the pharmacist with pre-packaging operations
  • Restock and clean stations
  • Daily workflow preparation (preparing pharmacy for following day shift)
  • Participate in weekly team meetings
  • Occasional box making, assembly of box carts
  • Rotate between stations within pharmacy
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Dispensing skills: should be accurate, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Keyboarding skills; proficient in Microsoft office
  • Must adhere to policies and procedures, be accountable, and be committed to continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to climb on Ladders, operate WAV (electric lift), lift 5-30 lbs., and pallet jack
  • Ability to work and maintain accuracy in a fast paced environment
  • Team oriented and works well with others
  • Accurately excels at repetitive tasks for long periods of time
  • Capacity to start and stop projects seamlessly, despite frequent interruptions, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Must be able to use sound judgement and know when to ask manager for assistance
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand and focus on detailed work for long periods of time
  • Use of heavy equipment
  • Climbing stair Ladders
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required
  • The noise level in the work area is normally quiet to moderate
  • Environment where dogs could be present in the office areas of the business
  • Must have Saturday availability
  • Repetitive wrist movements

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be currently licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Oregon
