Part-Time Faculty - Curriculum Dvlpr/Info Tech CPD - (GRANT)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
\r\n
As part of the Pathways to Careers grant, the curriculum developer's primary responsibility is to develop curriculum for a three-week pre-apprenticeship pilot program in information technology (IT) professions. This three-week camp will be geared towards high school juniors and seniors and college freshmen. The focus of the pre-apprenticeship program will be expanding the participants knowledge of work-based learning opportunities that are aligned to career and technical education programs in healthcare professions and promoting apprenticeships as an alternative to traditional postsecondary education models. Camp will be offered in both a hybrid and virtual format.

NOTE: Curriculum Developer also has the option of teaching the three-week pre-apprenticeship camp.

Essential Job Functions:
\r\n
    \r\n
  • Work with grant coordinator and subject matter experts to plan objectives for the camp.
  • \r\n
  • Develop curriculum and methodology for instructors.
  • \r\n
  • Revise curriculum as necessary based on program evaluation.
  • \r\n
  • Partner with grant Director and Coordinator to disseminate the project and outcomes throughout the state of Texas.
  • \r\n

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
\r\n
    \r\n
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation for both hybrid and virtual courses.
  • \r\n
  • Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction effectiveness
  • \r\n
  • Knowledge of evaluation practices.
  • \r\n
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • \r\n
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • \r\n
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • \r\n

Required Qualifications:
\r\n
    \r\n
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology profession, teaching or related field.
  • \r\n
  • Three (3) years successful teaching or curriculum development experience at the secondary or college level or work experience in the camp discipline sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties.
  • \r\n


Salary Grade: AH

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
