SUPERVISES: Operating Room RN, Surgery Technologist, Lead Sterile Processing Technician and Sterile Processing Technician

STATUS: Exempt, Salary

SCHEDULE: Monday Friday 7am Start Time; Weekends and Holidays off

Starting Salary $110k


The OR Nurse Supervisor has a major leadership role in the day-to-day and overall operations of PROSC. The position serves as an integral liaison between the Clinical Administration, providers, surgeons, techs, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include oversight of the operating rooms, staff, equipment, vendors, transaction processing, and partnership development to ensure a safe environment and quality experience for patients.


  1. Provides daily direction and coaching to OR staff including timely performance feedback and performance evaluations to ensure quality patient care and safety.
  2. Responsible for managing staffing levels to meet needs of surgery center to include: recruiting, hiring, orientation, training, daily work schedules, and ongoing staff development.
  3. Regularly reviews required nurse competencies ensuring staff is properly trained and demonstrates required competencies. Responsible to document competencies for compliance and audits.
  4. Effectively and regularly communicates organization information, plans, and changes using different modes of communication to include team meetings and emails.
  5. Embrace and champion change leading staff through the change process.
  6. Responsible for review and evaluation of programs and patient care activities.
  7. Ensures the department's compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Responsible for continued compliance with regulatory standards and assures documentation of patient care to meet criteria dictated by legal practice, state and federal health standards. Participates with coordination of agency reviews and audits.
  8. Communicates with representatives to ensure all implant supplies and equipment are prepared for cases.
  9. Works with equipment representatives and maintenance to keep equipment functioning properly. Assists with equipment troubleshooting.
  10. Works with Materials Supervisor to ensure proper supply ordering and stocking.
  11. Participates in the review, revision and update of department policy and procedures manual.
  12. Maintains, analyzes and evaluates standards of nursing care within the facility in compliance with professional nursing standards and recommended pre and post operative procedures. Participates in Quality Assurance activities to improve patient care.
  13. Attends staff meetings, in-services, trainings, conferences, or other company events as requested.

Education, License, and Experience

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing AND Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington.
  2. Certified in basic CPR for Healthcare professionals.
  3. Current PALS certification for pediatric patient population.
  4. Current ACLS certification preferred (post hire advancement to ACLS will be expected).
  5. Five or more years nursing experience (surgery-related nursing experience preferred).
  6. Experience leading or providing direction to a group of professionals preferred.
  7. The Board of Managers or Licensing Council may periodically determine other qualifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Must have body of nursing knowledge and ability to demonstrate sound judgment while giving direct or indirect patient care.
  2. Nursing knowledge of all surgical procedures performed at the facility.
  3. Ability to assess quality of nursing care provided.
  4. Strong organizational skills and ability to schedule and organize staffing for optimal center efficiency and patient care.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  7. Ability to work with diverse groups.
  8. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  9. Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

General Physical Requirements

Most of work is performed in medical clinic setting which requires the ability to freely move about the facility for patient care. May require standing for long periods of time. Must be able to assist the movement of patients which includes the ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance and the ability to push/pull patients in wheelchairs or on gurneys. Position requires hand manipulative skills for word processing and writing. Must be able to hear verbal conversations over the phone and in-person with background noise. Must be able to consistently identify objects and persons at a distance and read fine print on various forms. May have exposure to patients with communicable diseases. Exposure to blood and/or other body fluids.
