The Role:

Wealth Management & Investment Solutions (WMIS) provides advice, strategies and solutions for all aspects of the financial, asset management and wealth transfer needs of high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.  WMIS is dedicated to delivering an outstanding client experience by providing unbiased advice and individual solutions.  The CCM role is within the WMIS Credit Risk Organization, with roles in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, London and Geneva.

 

Responsibilities:


  • Manage a designated Credit Risk Portfolio within acceptable quality and loss criteria

  • Provide support to Senior Credit Executives for top credit Clients, including existing and new transactions. This would involve having a current and prospective view of the client, its industry and credit needs, and when appropriate partner with Lending Solutions in client discussions

  • Approve credit risk exposure relating to the client base within authorized limits.

  • Responsible for the accurate, timely and consistent assignment of Risk Ratings for all Clients and Collateral

  • Ensure all credit exposure is structured, documented and approved in accordance with JPMorgan Credit Policy

  • Play lead role in supervising and ensuring the quality of the credit risk portfolio is maintained within acceptable tolerances.

  • Monitor all Exception Reports produced by Credit Middle Office, work with integrated team to understand issues, approve resolution plans and escalate potential problems immediately

  • Identify names promptly to be added to the Watch List or Criticized and Classified loans

  • Advise ITM on credit risk management of Watch List and C&C accounts, manage CSR process

  • Drive the Credit Risk project agenda, while acting as SME on projects with risk involvement

  • Recommend and implement new methods and procedures to make the unit more efficient

  • Work closely with all other Control Functions and understand the potential impact on the credit portfolio of other types of risk – e.g. Market, Liquidity, Operating, Reputation, etc.  Establish contacts with other LOB credit teams.   

  • Mentor Credit Underwriters and Credit Analysts, as well as other WMIS Risk staff.

  • Provide support and cover for the Regional Credit Executive

Qualifications:

 

  • The candidate should be an excellent communicator both written and verbal, detail-oriented, organized, possess strong analytic skills and have problem solving capabilities. Individual must be able to work in a high production environment with the ability to work under tight timelines and multi-task.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in economics, accounting, finance or business management
  • Minimum 3-6 years of relevant Credit Underwriting experience.
  • Formal credit training a plus. 
  • Experience and familiarity of all risk types including market, liquidity, reputation, operations, complex derivatives, ACH, etc.
  • Familiarity with term sheets, loan and derivative documentation with ability to take an active role in identifying key issues / concerns around structure and credit with the ability to propose solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with and influence others
