Mental Health Associates function as a member of the Inpatient treatment team providing short-term therapeutic treatment in a 57 bed acute-care hospital that serves all ages.
Full-time 8-hour shifts available; includes every other weekend and some holidays. 32-40 hrs a week.
*Days: 7AM-3:30PM
*Evenings: 3PM-11:30PM
*Overnights: 11PM-7:30AM
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with direct patient care such as checking vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc).
Facilitate patient involvement with the prescribed therapeutic activities.
Monitor unit safety.
Running groups and activities.
Assist with activities of daily living when needed (bathing, toileting, feeding).
Respond to crises that may arise while utilizing appropriate verbal deescalation and/or physical restraint techniques.
Qualifications:
High school degree required with minimum 1 year of experience in mental health or residential (Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or Human Services field preferred - no minimum experienced required with bachelor's degree).
CNA, EMT, or other medical experience will be considered.
Must be able to perform physical duties such as assisting with lifting and physical restraints.
Must pass training course on proper use of restraints.
Starting pay $12.80-$15.83 depending on experience and education Evening, Overnight, and Weekend shifts pay a shift differential of an extra $1-$2 an hour!
