Job Summary:

Provide product manufacturing support for new product development. Create assembly instructions, process workflows, tooling, fixtures, and other documentation to assist in product manufacture in both prototype and production environments. Candidate has clear understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and implementation practices and experience with ISO9001 Documentation requirements.

Essential Functions*:

Provide manufacturing support as part of a cross functional development team.

Create process work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and packaging for new products.

Collaborate with mechanical and electrical designers to ensure product drawings and BOMs are structured correctly and meet design standards.

Develop documentation within project timeline.

Work on multiple project development teams.

Develop and support engineering functional test requirements for product characterization and verification during the design cycle.

Assist with prototypes and engineering builds (hands on capability required).

Perform Failure Analysis on manufacturing issues on the product.

Explore methods to increase overall manufacturing capacity and productivity through modification of plant layout, new equipment, modifications to existing equipment and changes in production flow.

Participate in the transition for new products into production.

Some travel required to support customer visits.

Other duties as assigned.

Education / Training / Skills / Experience:

BS or similar degree in Mechanical or related Engineering field, or equivalent experience.

2-5 years related experience in product development, product introduction, and or manufacturing environment.

Strong technical knowledge of enclosure design and electronics.

Strong written and communication skills.

Must have a general knowledge of ISO requirements and working knowledge of those requirements as they pertain to document / record control, new product development, work environment including ESD / temperature / humidity / contamination, identification / traceability / preservation of product, property management, supplier maintenance, monitoring / measuring / inspection / validation of product, control of nonconforming product, and corrective and preventive action in support of product design and manufacture.

Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO9001/ 13485 experience desired.

High level of initiative and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

  • General office, lab and production environments.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
