This role owns American’s relationships with all domestic and international credit card processors, card networks, airline industry groups, and payment service providers.
This role is a part of the Payment Strategy team within our Finance division.

Understand payment processing industry standards, internal policies, operational issues, upcoming changes, and communicate the same to stakeholders, including any business requirements and financial impact
Strategically and analytically evaluate new products, technology, and payment methods in the industry
Lead team of analysts to run, document, and improve our payment operation, processes and procedures
Reduce our cost of acceptance, create efficiencies, manage payments budget, and ensure compliance
Create operational statistics and dashboards to understand our performance and areas of opportunity
Collaborate with internal teams to achieve our objectives and support the needs of other teams

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
General knowledge of credit card processing, fraud, chargebacks, budgeting, and accounting
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Ability to use data to create operational metrics and understand areas of opportunity
Proven track record of analyzing, communicating, and solving complex problems
Ability to manage multiple relationships and projects, including prioritizing according to set goals
Caring leader of people with curiosity to understand and improve existing processes
Able to present to various levels of management and tailor the presentation to the audience accordingly
Outstanding communication and organizational skills
Ability to build great relationships and consensus with many teams, internally and externally
Work in a team environment as well as be successful independently
Willingness to take initiative and display true ownership of job responsibilities
Understand and negotiate legal agreements
Ability to research and understand regulatory issues and communicate impact on our payment operation
