What you'll do

  • Responsible for the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of all solutions including development and operational support of the Finance and Accounting System Product
  • Lead, motivate and cultivate a high performing team environment including squad leads, SAP functional and technical resources and other full stack developers   
  • Drive organizational structure, process, and cultural improvements that result in rapid delivery and consistent execution of IT solutions 
  • Liaison between IT, business partners, Enterprise IT teams and external vendors, embodying transparency and accountability
  • Servant leader to direct reports who establishes personal relationships, facilitates growth and development and actively participates with the teams 
  • Collaborate with peers on leadership team to determine department strategy and vision and 
  • Collaborate closely with direct manager to partner in carrying out strategic and tactical objectives in the organization
  • Ensure that sound agile project management, business analysis, and quality assurance processes are in place and practiced
  • Commit to continuous learning and sharing of knowledge

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field 
  • At least 5 years related work experience
  • 3 years of experience leading projects or teams, either formally or informally
  • 3 years of experience participating in delivery of solutions using agile methodologies
  • Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards with the ability to foster a team environment and to build relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively and clearly communicate a strategic vision; ability explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences 
  • Believes in, promotes and embodies in daily actions the American Airlines five leadership attributes:

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Experience in managing, supporting, and delivering 'mission-critical' projects/migrations
  • Experience working with Agile project management methodologies and tools
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects/work streams and demands efficiently
  • Experience in leading a team of individuals with various levels of skills and experience in potentially high stress and challenging situations
  • Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
  • Experience managing financial budgets a plus
