  • Responsible for leading the Company’s work to develop industry-leading ESG policies, practices and disclosures

 

What you'll do

  • Lead the Company’s work to respond to requests from external ESG stakeholders, including rater/ranking groups and investors; work across the company to collect complete and accurate responses
  • Develop strategies to comply with new ESG reporting requirements
  • Engage with the major ratings agencies – ISS, S&P, MSCI, Sustain analytics and others – to understand their perspectives and answer their requests for data and policies
  • Recommend new policies, approaches and disclosures that can further enhance how these agencies rate American’s ESG efforts and disclosures
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations, CRE and other business units to develop the public-facing policies, data and other disclosures that will strengthen the Company’s ratings
  • Work with Sales to develop complete responses to inquiries from corporate sales accounts
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the competitive landscape

 

All you'll need for success

 

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years of work experience

 

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Master's degree in public policy and/or prior experience in ESG-related policy areas

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, shift priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
