Overview

Arbonne, an international direct-to-consumer distribution company, sells personal care and nutrition products. The Manager of Accounting is a newly created position that reports to the Assistant Controller. The Manager of Accounting is responsible for the successful, timely completion of various month-end closing processes that include general ledger closing, such as reviewing and approving journal entries, review of balance sheet reconciliations, performing account analysis and directing staff regarding accruals and adjustments.

The Manager of Accounting will assist with the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. This individual will regularly interact with other team members throughout the organization at all levels of responsibility. The Manager of Accounting supervises staff and is expected to lead by example through application of our Company's core values of Accountability, Community, Innovation and Courage.



Responsibilities

  • Supervision, training and ongoing development of staff.
  • Lead with a positive attitude, as a key motivator of staff that fosters strong staff engagement and commitment.
  • Oversee completion of process documentation for the current Oracle environment in anticipation of the future SAP ERP implementation.
  • Review and approve monthly manual journal entries, as assigned.
  • Provide month-end closing support for all general ledger activity (including consolidation & elimination processes).
  • Review and sign-off on monthly balance sheet reconciliations in audit-ready format, as assigned.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statement reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues.
  • Provide accounting support to other departments within the organization.
  • Serve as a key contact in facilitating the completion of the annual audit.
  • Actively participate in the adherence to established internal controls.
  • Provide support to peers tasked with the development and maintenance of accounting policies and controls, compliant with standards of effective internal controls as set by Parent. Evaluate appropriate implementation strategies for changes in accounting standards and/or controls.
  • Other ad-hoc projects and/or research.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in public and private industry is required
  • CPA designation required
  • Experience working in a distribution and or manufacturing environment. Medium to large company experience within a rapid growth environment is preferred. Ability to extract and analyze data from various sources and/or applications.
  • Experience in the following areas is required:
    • Supervision of staff
    • Experience with Change Management, motivating and encouraging staff during periods of change
    • Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS
    • Leader in monthly closing process including review and approval of journal entries and performing account analysis
    • Balance sheet reconciliation review
    • Operational accounting and interaction with operations management
    • Financial statement reporting
    • Managing annual year-end audit process, working directly with the external auditors
    • Experience with accounting in an international corporate structure is a plus
  • Financial Systems Experience:
    • ERP Implementation Experience
    • Oracle ERP Experience is desired
    • Other Financial Application Experience, especially SAP, is a plus
    • Tableau Experience is a plus
