This position will establish the strategic approach to ensure all Deliver (Logistics Distribution and Transportation) transformation standards are deployed across manufacturing site. This includes DG, Transportation Routing Guide Compliance, Packaging Compliance, Technology, etc. This includes proactively developing and deploying best practices, ensuring continuous improvement activities and oversight of Deliver activities are executed to the standards. This role will provide overall program leadership, ensure alignment, and provide execution oversight for manufacturing site Deliver teams. In addition, this position will be a key point of escalation for manufacturing sites related to Deliver standards including supporting resolution of program issues and risks, working closely with senior leadership across manufacturing sites and regions to address logisticsneeds.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Complete manufacturing site gap analysis to global Deliver transformation standards and drive continuous improvement by deploying global standards and framework for oversight of logistics activities at manufacturing sites

+ Ensure logistics processes at approximately 69 mfg. sites occur in a compliant (DG, Transportation Routing Guide Compliance, Packaging Compliance, Technology, etc.) and efficient manner

+ Maintain visibility to global site performance via data, KPIs, and metrics to troubleshoot issues in partnership with Enterprise Deliver COE and Regions

+ Accountable for ensuring logistics standards are met and maintained

+ Identify inefficiencies in processes and technology and deploy enhancements by working with Enterprise Deliver COE (i.e. DGMS, TMS, E2E Visibility, Control Tower, etc.)

+ Uncover cost savings opportunities to achieve 5-6% year over year cost down/productivity, and work with the Deliver COE to achieve Quality, Service, and Cost commitments

+ Monitor activities and provide visibility to Enterprise and Region Logistics Leads for potential new products, shifts in manufacturing strategy and production, movement/transfers in lines, and overall strategies that impact logistics

+ Serve as Manufacturing liaison to GSC functions (Plan, Deliver, and Trade)

+ Provide Integrated Global Design oversight and input with Manufacturing and OU Ops Leaders

+ Manage acquisitions/divestitures logistics activities in alignment with Enterprise Playbook

+ Co-develop and deploy transportation acumen/capability/knowledge management/training within manufacturing sites

+ Logistics liaison with Manufacturing, Sterilizers, and Enterprise Deliver (Transportation, Distribution, Control Tower, and Network) teams

+ Compliance Issue Resolution (DG, Origin labeling issues, Routing Guides. etc.)

+ Manage global 3 rd party finished goods warehouses (3PLs), which are not attached to manufacturing sites, to the Medtronic distribution standards

+ Minimum of 7 years managing a cost center or PL

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

+ Demonstrated ability to lead large global, direct and indirect/cross-functional project teams and deliver results

+ Experience providing work direction, coaching and guidance to teams

+ Experience working in matrixed teams responsible for influencing and communicating at all levels within the organization

+ Experience deploying logistics technology within manufacturing environment (i.e. transportation management systems, dangerous goods management systems, real time visibility, carrier and 3PLcollaboration platforms, routing guide management, warehouse management systems, claims systems, etc.)

+ Advanced degree

+ Experience leading large-scale enterprise and cross-functional initiatives

+ Experience managing a global team or program in a large, corporate matrixed organization

+ Experience with plant operations, materials management, procurement, supply chain, logistics, and/or sourcing

+ Ability to establish credibility with various leaders in the organization and have courage (Act Boldly) to lead without direct line oversight

+ Experience with business process improvement (preferably kaizen, six sigma, lean sigma skills)

+ Experience in medical devices or other regulated industry

+ Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

+ Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with senior levels of leadership

+ Strong communication skills, including with employees, clients, senior management and vendors

+ Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.)

+ Ability to work collaboratively and partner with business leadership, employees, and vendors

+ Demonstrated ability to work across many levels of an organization, from VP to non-exempt staff

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a virtual organization

+ Knowledge around global functional annual operating plan planning and Non-GAAP financial modeling

+ Strong decision-making skills
