The Lead QA Engineer will be a part of the Workforce Management team that owns the Next Generation Time and Labor management platform.

As the Lead QA Engineer, you will write, revise, and verify quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to attain software quality economically and efficiently. You own and drive the test strategy, test plans and test scripts for upcoming releases, status reports, and maintain current manual and automated test scripts. You will evaluate and test new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines. You will recommend program improvements or corrections to programmers. You will perform functional, system, integration and automated testing. You will provide direction for the Quality Assurance (QA) project team during all Agile development phases, and review and provide input for all project change requests. You will work with Business Analysts and Developers to analyze and debug issues and obtain clarifications on functional issues. You will deliver results for test execution, defect management and apply QA techniques related to computer systems, analysis, and programming.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

• We'll start each day with a scrum, working together to understand responsibilities, ID any issues, and communicate coding priorities. You'll participate in all phases of the Software Test Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, test planning, scheduling, testing, defect tracking, and reporting.
• You'll design test plans and data, automate test cases, and capture defects for large-scale, complex software systems. Working in two-week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and coding standards.
• You'll build and maintain the software testing framework and monitor test performance, always thinking of new ways to simplify and improve our processes. No detail is too small to ignore. Quality matters most. You'll do regression testing on applications and various software components.
• You'll design, monitor, and analyze quality assurance metrics, including defects, defect count, test results, and statuses.
• We work collaboratively, so you will collaborate across the organization to complete manual and automated tests to deliver products with efficiency and speed.
• You're always learning new codes and eager to figure things out as you learn.
• You have 5+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

• You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent

• 5+ years of experience in with preparing test strategy, test plan and test execution to achieve high quality standards
• Ability to perform both manual and automated testing
• Hands-on experience with licensed tools and/or open Source such as Selenium WebDriver, Ready API, PostMan, restAssured, Cucumber and Gherkin based BDD testing
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable automated test suites and test frameworks
• Experience building and maintaining API automated testing of RESTFul web services, UI automation, test data preparation and data driven testing
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins Pipeline and plugins
• Knowledge of container deployment and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker
• Experience with cross browser compatibility testing of web applications
• Experience testing on tablets and mobile devices
• Knowledge of development tools to troubleshoot web-based applications
• Experience using relational (such as Oracle/DB2) databases and NoSQL (such as MongoDB, elastic search) databases as backend
• Experience working with local and remote teams on large-scale projects
