  • Responsible for designing, developing, editing, and revising a variety of training products for all Customer Care, Ground Ops, Cargo, and Service Recovery groups
  • The role is a part of the Airport Readiness team within our Cargo & Airport Excellence group. 

What you'll do

  • Creates effective and engaging instructional curriculum specifically crafted to produce desired learning outcomes and support the goals of the business
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies conducive to motivating learning, including examples, practice, and interactivity
  • Conducts needs assessments to analyze learner background and instructional needs
  • Consults with internal customers regarding design, development, and revision of their training products
  • Determines course objectives and the appropriate sequence in which to address them, and develops assessment items that accurately measure learning outcomes
  • Maintains open communication with stakeholders to ensure projects proceed in a timely manner and deadlines are met
  • Uses technology and multimedia appropriately to enhance training
  • Identifies additional training needs by uncovering areas of opportunity using available data resources (e.g., audit data, help desk calls, customer complaints, etc.)
  • Maintains currency with instructional design and industry trends and research
  • Completes other tasks as required

All you'll need for success

  • Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience/training
    • At least 1 year of experience applying instructional design to performance-based training
    • At least 1 year of technical writing experience applying training methodologies
    • Experience working with rapid content development tool(s)
  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Master’s degree or degree in Education or Instructional Design
    • Knowledge of airline operations
    • Experience working with the American Airlines Learning Management System (LMS)
    • Knowledge of Articulate 360 and Vyond 
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
    • •    Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodologies
      •    Acute attention to detail
      •    Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
      •    Strong interpersonal skills
      •    Highly approachable and professional at all times
      •    Ability to assess training needs, consult with internal customers, and develop appropriate instructional curriculum that produces desired learning outcomes
      •    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
      •    Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both verbally and written
