We are looking for a HR/Benefits Specialist to act as first point of contact for U.S. associates, family members, and other participants for general HR/benefits/payroll inquiries. The successful incumbent will have the opportunity to perform research to achieve problem resolution and day-to-day tasks which are required to maintain master data in conjunction with multiple HR and benefit programs.



Acts as first point of contact for customer inquiries and strives to deliver first call/contact resolution. Collaborates with various HR functions in problem solving.
Coaches employees, participants, and family members on details and requirements of various HR programs and benefit plans, including but not limited to health, life, spending accounts, health savings accounts, pension, COBRA, education assistance and payroll.
Consults with various functions (HR, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, IT, etc.) on general or more complex inquiries from customers or other functional areas.
Creates or updates tickets within case management system, JIRA, to include all details on the inquiry, research and response. Escalates non-basic issues to SME or other functional areas.
Reviews incoming documentation to ensure requirements are met for a wide variety of HR programs and/or benefit plans for purposes of processing HR, benefit, and payroll changes.
Communicates with participant or other functional areas to resolve basic outstanding problems.
Prepares general communication to employees, retirees and other participants on a wide variety of HR and benefit programs.
Updates employee master data in various HR/benefits/payroll systems. Consults with SME regarding errors/warnings. Accesses company organization chart to identify hierarchy and position IDs.
Assumes ownership for solving a wide variety of problems related to HR/benefit programs by collaborating with SME.
Participates in testing of new system implementations/changes. Provide feedback on test results.
Participates in projects or corporate initiatives (e.g. acquisitions, divestitures, VRIP, payroll integrations, etc.) as needed.
Provides recommendations for continuous improvement.
Provides feedback on departmental forms, documents, written instructions and procedures.


Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Excellent customer focus.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proven ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, striving for highest level of accuracy.
Proficient with basic Microsoft Word functions, including general correspondence, and merges.
Proficient with basic Microsoft Excel functions, including sorting, formulas, and filters.

Education/Experience Required:

Associate's degree in HR, Business or relevant field

Two years related work experience may be substituted for degree

One year of related HR or call center experience
One year working knowledge in related HR programs/systems and familiarity with benefit programs


Related certification (e.g. PHR, CEBS, etc.)

Working knowledge of specific HR/benefits programs
SAP HR Module
