We arecurrently seeking Field Engineer to work in a technical supportrole with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamicenvironment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and companyand get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. Thisposition entails travel to job sites and working outside of the office setting95% of the time monitoring geotechnical and environmental subsurfaceinvestigations and conducting geologic reconnaissance, constructionobservations of deep excavations with a nuclear density gauge, excavationsupport, and tie-back testing. This full-time hourly position will be based outof our Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA office.

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline.
  • Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation.
  • Review regulations as appropriate.
  • Conduct site reconnaissance.
  • Perform other routine data collection activities.
  • Document project-related activities.
  • Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
  • Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with internal Haley & Aldrich team members on a daily basis.

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • 0-2 years of related experience, including internships
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to travel to local job sites and on temporary out of town assignments as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter
  • Maintains membership in one professional society or technical organization in their discipline or primary area of technical interest
  • Computer Skills - Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software
  • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred but not required
  • Nuclear Gauge Density training preferred but not required
