SUMMARY:
The Project Business Analyst Intern is expected to learn the business processes within Engineering PMO, particularly around delivering business and administrative support for Engineerings capital project portfolio. Individuals in this role use skills and knowledge from their educational background to assist Engineering PMO staff in identifying and documenting requirements, processes, tools, and artifacts needed to complete project deliverables or to comply with internal and external administrative requirements. Individuals in this role work under direct supervision of senior level Program Manager or PMO Leader. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work without supervision, and be energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports collection, verification, and maintenance of capital project planning deliverables and datasets in compliance with Engineering and Enterprise requirements.
  • Assists in maintenance of Engineering capital plan data in the Finance intake system and ensures consistency with current data developed and compiled through the Engineering capital planning process
  • Assists in analysis of collected information to identify issues, missing data and needed updates and ensures corrections are made
  • Learn and assist mentors with complex data and process information to compile and produce reports for various audiences
  • Assist in preparing workflow diagrams, SOPs, procedures, training materials, and other similar products to support the business function
  • Performs other related duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate/graduate degree in Engineering, Science, or Business
  • Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Experience with querying data
  • Quantitative skills & experience with taking raw data and drawing actionable insights from it
  • Experience querying data with SQL
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar is a plus

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
