Educational Planner (Temporary Grant Funded) - Central/North/South Campuses

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provides educational planning, academic advising, career advising, registration assistance, graduation application processing, and assistance in accessing, and navigating institutional requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provides educational planning / academic advising, registration assistance, and assistance in accessing and navigating institutional requirements to current students.
  • Provides career advising to assist students in choosing a career pathway.
  • Works with specific at-risk populations to create pathways for success.
  • Plans, implements, and conducts retention and completion activities.
  • Assists with graduation application process and commencement activities.
  • Works with the Director of Educational Planning, Counseling and Completion to plan, implement and evaluate the programs and services provided by Educational Planning, Counseling, and Completion.

Additional Job Functions:
  • Works cooperatively with counterparts on the other campuses to achieve the College's annual goals and objectives.
  • Represents the College with outside educational institutions, internal departments, and professional organizations. Serves as a department liaison and on College committees as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to demonstrate the College values
  • Ability to maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services
  • Demonstrate working functional knowledge and use of Banner and Microsoft Office
  • Must possess outstanding communication, critical thinking, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Demonstrate the desire to learn new software requirements to support office functions & efficiency
  • Ability to adapt to learning new tasks & skills
  • Must possess personal computer literacy and good organizational skills.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited college or university

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience / training in one or more of the following areas: education, teaching, academic advising, recruiting, sales, customer service, marketing, or public relations
  • Community college experience
  • Banner experience
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Note: Grant-funded positions are contingent on the continuation and the availability of grant funds

Note: This position has opportunity for limited remote work arrangements with appropriate approvals and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and needs of the College.

Salary Grade: 21

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
