Utilizing independent judgment, the Director of Operations manages, supervises and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the venue, including maintenance, set-up/changeovers, custodial/housekeeping, grounds keeping. Provides overall administrative planning, direction, and policies to operating managers, assuring the highest quality service program to assure booking/rebooking of events. Ensures an effective and cost-efficient program by controlling departmental operating budget.

This position is based at our Casper Event Center. If it's happening in Wyoming, chances are it's happening at the Casper Events Center.   • Oversees overall daily operation and maintenance of the facility and arena and all systems. This includes HVAC, set up/housekeeping, facility maintenance, technology/AV, workplace safety, communications, etc.
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate supervisory staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility maintenance and operations; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures
  • Develop and administer the Operation budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary
  • Coordinate facility arrangements with concessionaires; direct and monitor the work of contractors, engineers, and architects on building projects
  • Oversee all operational orders for venue including supplies, technology, and all materials for maintenance programs within designated budgetary guidelines
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication from department on event information to the appropriate departments and staff.
  • In partnership with General Manager, negotiates and administers labor group contracts (Stagehands).
  • Oversees the operation of event set-up and tear-down, i.e. floors, stage risers, chairs, signs, etc.
  • Administers and negotiates contracts with outside vendors including pest control, scoreboard systems, seasonal landscaping and snow removal.
  • Acts as liaison with City Services for numerous facility related functions (City Codes, Parking, Licenses, permits, etc.).
  • Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits for underground storage tanks; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations
  • Oversees all operational personnel in hiring, training, and supervision
  • Responsible for Health & Safety compliance of venue


  • Bachelor's/Technical degree from an accredited college/university/school required. Eight (8) plus years of progressive facility operations management experience can be substituted for this requirement.
  • Minimum of four six (4-6) years' experience in facility operations management.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality, discretion and ethics
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law practices (e.g. EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, OSHA, etc.);
  • Proven independent professional capable of forming relationships with diverse groups of employees at all levels
  • Must show demonstrated knowledge of physical plant management, supervisory skills and experience in work crew supervision in facility operations.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including, early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended number of consecutive days.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget preparation and control.
  • Familiarity of OSHA requirements.
  • General working knowledge of venue equipment
  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm / Fire Protection systems, Security Systems and requirements.
