ADP is hiring a Director - Expense - This accounting leadership role is within the North America General Accounting team. 


The Director will lead a team that performs the following functions:  the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting process for the CoE functional areas (e.g. general and employee related expenses), preparation of financial statement schedules and analysis to support internal and external reporting, maintenance and accuracy of all general ledger accounts, management of complex accounting projects and delivery of BPI process improvements and corresponding savings.   


The Director will lead a team that includes ADP associates both onshore in North America and in Manila as well as a team with our outsourcing partner (IBM) located in Naga City, Philippines.  Total team is expected to be approximately 30-35 people.

  • Directs the end-to-end monthly accounting and financial reporting processes for revenue accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Includes general expenses, employee related expenses and NSE expense.
  • Leads in the resolution of all related day-to-day issues and challenges, particularly with respect to general ledger and subledger transactions and reconciliation.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of certain detailed financial statement analyses used for internal and external reporting.
    Develops a strong working relationship with numerous teams across ADP’s Finance organization by demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Corporate and Tax reporting requirements.
  • Ensures financial transactions are recorded in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for accounting guidance related to revenue.
  • Serves as the CoE primary contact and coordinates all activities required to support internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for executing and monitoring ongoing control procedures and documentation related to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements related to the CoE functional areas and for the remediation of control deficiencies, if any.
  • Drives business process improvement within the CoE by identifying and implementing actions that result in more efficient and streamlined processes.
  • Manages a large team of direct and indirect resources (onshore, offshore and outsourced).  Understands and leverages outsourced service provider contract and deliverables.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required
  • 8 to 12 Years of financial industry experience, including supervisory experience
  • Experience working in a multi-location (virtual) environment
  • Experience working with an outsource provider highly preferred
