Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced, creative, and highly talented DevOps Engineer to drive our AWS initiatives in our Raleigh, NC office. This position can be remote for candidates located within the United States. The successful candidate will utilize their system administration and development skills to deliver products that are high quality, on-time and within budget. Due to the varying nature of our projects, our staff grows their skills rapidly since each solution requires new approaches and technology components. This is an exciting opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a variety of exciting and innovative projects for our internal and external clients.   • Handle code deployments in all environments

  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve

  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations

  • Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS

  • Implement and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation

  • Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS

  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform

  • Design, manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes

Minimum Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, GIS or a related field plus at least 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with AWS in a DevOps role

  • Experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language, such as Python

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science preferred.

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional and / or AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in a system administration role

  • Experience building highly automated infrastructures

  • Experience administering operating systems

  • Understanding of modern development and operations processes and methodologies

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies

  • Experience with Scrum and Kanban

  • Experience in mobile and/or web development using technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript.

  • Experience with ESRI GIS products.

  • Experience with AWS GovCloud and NIST 800-53.
