Desktop Support Technician I - Central Campus

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide second level response for onsite computing environment and peripheral issues as outlined in the ITS service level agreement.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of virtual and physical desktop environments.
  • Assist in the packaging and delivery of software to desktop environments.
  • Assist users with hardware and software problem diagnosis.
  • Assist users with hardware and software requirements.
  • Escalate issues which will not be resolved within the Service Level Agreement to the Desktop Support leader.
  • Participate in continuous improvement techniques to improve efficiency and service to customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Marginal Job Functions:
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems related to the desktop computing environment.
  • Knowledgeable with Windows operating systems (Windows 10)
  • Familiar with MAC OS in a business setting.
  • A clear understanding of the interoperability of the desktop environment with the distributed computing environment is required.
  • Must be highly organized and possess excellent verbal communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong listening skills required.
  • Strong problem solving skills required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Required Education:
  • Associate's Degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Information Technology or Computer Science from an accredited institution.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum two years of related IT work experience required.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in Higher Education preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM)

Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
  • MCA Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator (Windows 10), A+, ITIL Foundations, HDI-DST or ACMT

Note: This position has opportunity for remote work arrangements with appropriate approvals and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and needs of the College.

Salary Grade: 18

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
