SimSpace is looking for Cyber Range Engineers to help shape the future of realistic environments used for cyber security testing, training, assessments, and tool development.

We are looking for a Cyber Range Engineer that is curious, motivated, possesses effective communication skills, has a diverse and practical technical background/experience, is proactive, and has a desire to learn and set the standard. This Cyber Range Engineer will work closely with internal and external customers to design, build, test, and maintain cyber ranges utilizing various forms of software, devices, technology and skill sets.

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect complex computer networks for testing and training
  • Ensure the networks are running properly with host, servers and services configured to dynamic customer, industry or goal in order to ensure customer success
  • Ensure the security tools are properly setup and configured
  • Ensure the traffic generators (user emulation) are properly modeling user behaviours
  • Ensure the attack generators are setup to execute the available attack scenarios
  • Troubleshoot cyber range components from networking, system administration, and SimSpace technologies utilizing a variety of technical methods
  • Work in an open communication collaboration environment that reaches across functional teams
  • Curate and follow documentation to assist general audience in the validation of services
  • Continually document procedures and look for ways to automate tasks and excelerate processes to achieve repeatable success
  • Leverage and work with diverse cloud technologies and platforms


Requirements

  • Good work ethic, desire to learn and be challenged, self-driven and motivated multitasking
  • Team oriented and customer focused
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter or other virtualization technology
  • Experience with cloud software and technologies such as API, software integration, and data protection in cloud scenarios (certificates, PKI, encryption, TLS)
  • 5+ years of experience running and maintaining complex Enterprise IT systems
  • 5+ years of experience deploying, operating, and configuring Windows and/or Linux systems
  • 2+ years of experience with a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell; Functional Regex a plus
  • Practical knowledge and experience of and with computer networking principles (OSI layers, Firewalls, VLANs, and VPNs); implementation and configuration thereof
  • Practical knowledge of cyber security tools (SIEM, Proxy, AV, EDR, DLP, Forensics); implementation and configuration thereof
  • Experience with configuration management tools (such as puppet, ansible)
  • A practical understanding of computing security practices, both technical and social
  • Current industry relevant certifications such as Security+, CASP, CISSP, CCSP
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Ability to travel
