SmithBucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is looking for an entry-level Customer Relations Representative to join our Healthcare & Scientific Industry Practice in Washington, DC. The practice offers unmatched association expertise and specific knowledge of the issues, challenges, and actions distinctive to the changing healthcare environment. The Customer Relations Representative is the voice of an established national certification board assisting customers through the certification and recertification application process. In this role, you will partner with other Customer Relations Representatives team members to consistently provide reliable, responsive, and empathetic service.

What You Will Do

  • First and foremost, build and sustain strong customer relations by helping applicants as well as certified Diplomates with all of their needs through excellent customer service via phone and email
  • Process certification applications for applicants from accredited programs, matching the documents received, checking ADA and Legal status
  • Approve applicants to sit for exams provided by a third-party exam vendor
  • Assist customers with licensure verifications through state boards
  • Process recertification applications, auditing professional development coursework and activities, updating personal information and contacting diplomates regarding any outstanding requirements
  • Maintain data metrics for reporting purposes
  • Assure retention of diplomates through one-month, three-month, six-month, and one-year recertification reminder notices
  • Respond to phone and written requests as needed and provide occasional triage support for calls to other departments

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates Degree
  • 3-5 year of relevant professional experience, to include customer service and administrative support
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management
  • Ability to multi-task and see projects through to completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals where English is a second language
  • Ability to assist customers who have difficulty with technology
