Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment through a joint accountability model that align control managers with each line of business, function and region to mitigate operational risk. As a Control Manager Vice President, you'll be responsible for leading and building out an enhanced control framework which supports a continuous and integrated approach to risk assessment. Additionally, you will ensure the team assists in top down risk analysis, control design & evaluation, real time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis and remediation.

This role supports the Connected Commerce - Payments Organization and will support the new initiaives (build the bank) that are being built out to support the newly formed Connected Commerce Line of Business. The CC Payments is working closely with market trends and development in order to create products to support clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor business development to ensure processes are executed in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Proactively work with the business and other functional partners to identify key risk/mitigants to develop a successful controls framework prior to launch
  • Understand business drivers and provide both strategic and tactical input for key business decisions, and ensure controls for new business initiatives, as required
  • Report and present risk assessment and due diligence results, findings, and recommendations to senior management regularly
  • Partner effectively with colleagues across the business, operations management, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators and technology control functions to drive consistent and rigorous operational risk practices and control programs
  • Establish control frameworks, governance and reporting for new and emerging areas of the businesses, with the objective of ensuring consistency and sustainability across business organizations
  • Manage control-related activities, including risk and control self-assessments, risk event data occurrences, and new business initiatives and provide control related due diligence to business units to foster a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor™s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 7+ years of financial services experience in controls, audit, risk management, or compliance preferred
  • Must have the ability to work independently and quickly adapt to new or ambiguous situations with minimal direction
  • Expert knowledge of control and risk management concepts as well as control execution activities
  • Ability to manage complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs
  • Demonstrate confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong culture and risk management
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendation for improvement
