Job Description:

Goucher College's Clinical Case Manager is part of the Student Counseling Center team of committed professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting student emotional wellness that contributes to our students' capacity to succeed academically and affirms and supports the identities of all students. This is a donor-funded position.

The Clinical Case Manager Supports the functioning of the Student Counseling Center by facilitating access to mental health care for students that is beyond the scope of services available on campus. This includes facilitation of community mental health referrals for students needing long-term or specialized mental health care; coordination of care upon discharge from hospital when inpatient psychiatric care is warranted. This position is involved in direct clinical service to students by participating in triage intakes, crisis intervention, and by providing intensive case management and transition services such as bridge care to facilitate stabilization until adequate community care plan is established.

The Clinical Case Manager works in collaboration with the Office of Student Support and Outreach and the Office of the Vice President and Dean of Students to support students returning from a hospitalization, medical leave of absence, and/or college-initiated withdrawal. They will maintain an active role on necessary student behavioral teams to ensure collaboration with relevant areas to support students with active mental health needs. They must be able to work with our diverse student population and understanding of the role of social justice and racial equity in mental health support.

This is a 3-year contractual position with the possibility of renewal.


Qualified candidates will possess a Master's degree in mental health field (social work, clinical/counseling psychology) and terminal licensure in the state of Maryland. They will also have demonstrated expertise in clinical case management; demonstrated training and competence in working with individuals from diverse and minority groups.

Preferred candidates will have experience in college mental health, including crisis assessment and brief intervention.
