J.P. Morgan Payments provides cash management, liquidity, commercial card, foreign exchange and escrow solutions to clients across the world. Teams are constantly innovating, using the latest technology and data analytics to deliver specialized solutions to help clients grow and streamline their businesses. The organization combines four lines of business: Merchant Services, Treasury Services, Commercial Card and Trade Finance to help clients manage working capital and increase operational efficiency.

The Client Service and Implementations (CS&I) team is comprised of three main functions: Client Service, Implementations and Strategic Transformation; all providing a best in class service experience to clients, while integrating the businesses and designing the Client Service and Implementation (CS&I) operating model of the future.

Role description

The role of the Merchant Services CS&I UK Outsourcing Manager specifically will be to support oversight and governance of outsourcing arrangements related to delivery of services to United Kingdom domiciled clients of Merchant Services. In this role, the primary focus will be to ensure compliance with policies and governance frameworks through standardization and co-ordination of outsourcing relationships. Engagement with multiple internal stakeholder groups such as Sales & Relationship, Operations, Service, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Legal will be critical to the success of this role.

  • Support the Head of UK Merchant Services CS&I on a variety of responsibilities including ongoing development and delivery of the required oversight of CS&I functions outsourced to entities outside of the UK.
  • Liaison with local Payments governance teams, EU Merchant Services and to act as conduit to the Global CS&I organization.
  • Work closely with cross functional partners to ensure Payment Services Directive (PSD) obligations are met.
  • Accountable for outsourcing management, TPO and governance as location contact.
  • Anticipate internal and external factors impacting the business™ governance and implement plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Structure and present reports and updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Represent CS&I in governance steering forums and committees, where required.
  • Support 2nd / 3rd line of defense and external auditors with monitoring activity.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Several years™ experience in Banking / Investment Banking operations
  • Strong team player with aptitude for risk management, compliance and third-party oversight
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with business partners in internal LOBs
  • Self-motivation coupled with strong analytical skills and internal process control skills
  • A good understanding of J.P. Morgan Payments™ products and services and appreciation of respective business environments, especially Merchant Services
  • Attention to detail combined with an ability to absorb information and form an opinion or conclusion
  • Familiarity with data visualisation / automation tools Tableau, Xceptor, Alteryx
  • Excellent report writer and summarizer of complex issues / solutions
  • Ability to complete work to deadlines, with a sense of urgency through effective time management including: goal setting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring
  • Governance experience in Banking (outsourcing governance advantageous)
  • Strategic thinker with ability to motivate and drive tactical execution
  • Superior presentation and communication skills. Can sell self and ideas
