We are currently seeking a talented Executive Director to join the Chase Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Core Strategy group.

The group functions as an internal strategy consulting group and works on a project basis, addressing topics at the top of senior management agendas and at the forefront of the industry. Project types include growth strategies, market entries, product design, partnerships, and cross-line of business initiatives. Projects are typically team-based and include heavy interaction and collaboration with senior executives and cross-functional business partners.

The lines of business & functional groups the team supports include Consumer & Business Banking, Credit Card, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, Auto, Wealth Management, and Digital. Colleagues have the opportunity to build experience in a variety of areas by rotating across the lines of business.

The right candidate will help to lead small project teams in solving complex problems critical to the company. The position represents an excellent opportunity for candidates to:

  • Develop expertise in a variety of functions and businesses
  • Lead teams to deliver on high priority opportunities for the company
  • Be mentored and coached by experienced and talented managers and provide mentorship to junior team members on problem solving, analytical, communications, and leadership skills

Areas of responsibility

EDs on CCB Strategy lead small project teams across all areas of a given engagement. EDs coach, mentor, and supervise Vice Presidents, Associates and Analysts conducting supporting analyses and research and work extensively with other colleagues across CCB. Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Own and drive 2-4 strategy consulting engagements at any given time
  • Direct strategic thinking and approach, quickly identifying most critical aspects of problem and most appropriate structure on individual engagements
  • Influence the bank™s strategic agenda by being an objective thought partner to the C-suite and other senior leaders, beyond immediate scope of engagements
  • Take a leadership role in generating new, innovative ideas and staying abreast of market trends
  • Help manage project portfolio, priorities, and demand; help create teams with the right mix of skills, experience, and backgrounds for each client engagement
  • Actively invest in building and developing junior team members; support strategic career planning
  • Engage in broader team efforts, including recruiting, staffing / deployment decisions, and performance management
  • Develop strong followership with junior team members who actively seek advice / mentorship

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity / venture capital, strategic finance, or similar roles, including 3-5+ years of experience leading teams
  • Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • An outstanding ability to communicate effectively and confidently and to work well in cross-functional teams
  • A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Financial Services, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), or FinTech experience preferred
