The Overdraft Risk Strategy leader will be responsible for the management of losses associated with the overdraft product.

  • The person will manage a team of risk professionals tasked with developing strategies to mitigate losses by leveraging data from across the firm, advanced machine learning models, and other advanced analytics.
  • The role requires close partnership with the consumer and business banking, operations, technology, and product teams to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and drivers of customer behavior along with impact of strategies on customer experience.
  • The manager will also be responsible for working closely with technical product team to deliver best in class technology solutions to manage the portfolio.
  • Maintaining and enforcing a strong controls environment

We are seeking individuals with intellectual curiosity and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an interest in working with new technologies and techniques.

Job Requirements

The key skills for the job are:

  • Ability to mentor and develop a team of analysts, managing their book of work to deliver on business objectives
  • Ability to develop new creative solutions to challenges presented by leveraging outside the box thinking.
  • Experience working with large amounts of complex data to monitor and uncover behaviors and trends.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex data into a clear story to team members as well as senior leaders.
  • A desire to work as part of a team, and ability to work with cross functional teams
  • The ability to work on diverse tasks and respond to emerging issues
  • Candidate should have a passion for problem solving

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of professional experience, experience in risk management, strategic analytics, or data science preferred
  • Experience managing a team or process is preferred
  • Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large amounts of data and its impact in both operational and financial areas
  • Ability to compress large amounts of data into short and concise presentations with sound business conclusions
  • Ability to develop elegant and common-sense solutions to complex business challenges
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to comprehend and explain data / concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong knowledge of programming language like: SAS, SQL, Python, and R
  • Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint
