SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The successful candidate will be a visionary who can transform the interaction between HR and its clients by collaborating with partners across the organization to identify and deliver a digital and data-driven customer experience that ultimately leads to superior business outcomes.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


HR Transformation / Portfolio Management

  • Drive Amtraks Talent Strategy by investing in talent, strengthening culture, and advancing technology
  • Partner with the IT Department and HR leadership to provide portfolio and program leadership and change management expertise to cross-functional projects and enterprise-wide people initiatives
  • Positively transform the experience of the HR client
  • Develop strategic partnerships with executives to operationalize Transformation initiatives
  • Identify trends and propose programs to keep Amtrak at the cutting edge of HR

Shared Service

  • Refine and evolve Amtraks HR Employee Resource Center, building consistency in services to ensure smooth transactions throughout the employee life cycle
  • Lead a client-centric service model
  • Champion the use of a data-driven approach, using insights to inform business decisions
  • Optimize the shared service to capitalize on cost efficiencies

People Technology

  • Oversee the evolution of technology to ensure it is embedded as a core HR competency
  • Lead the shift from a reactive HR to a value-added proactive partnership model that focuses on enhancing digital capabilities and automating ways of working
  • Champion investments in HR technology amongst executive leadership

Data Analytics and Reporting

  • Provide thought leadership across HR and be the champion for cultivating and supporting a data-driven decision-making culture
  • Work with HR leadership to identify, collect, and measure key performance data and have it drive HR and company strategy
  • Work with IT to ensure collection of critical data and create useful reports that drive business decisions

Vendor Management

  • Evaluate current vendor management practices, identify improvement opportunities and establish an HR Vendor Management program
  • Oversee the management of vendor activities and ensure vendors fulfill contractual obligations including Service Level Agreements
  • Establish standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors
  • Manage the renewal and extension of contracts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of a Masters level education in Human Resources, Risk Management, Project Management or similar disciplines, or commensurate mix of education and experience
  • 15 Years experience leading and developing teams through direct management or project organization management
  • 10 years experience managing and delivering a high-level project portfolio
  • Proven track record of consultative experience with senior leaders
  • Proven track record of identifying and managing risks and developing controls
  • Leader with strategy, data science, client support and operations experience
  • Proven track record of deploying successful transformation initiatives
  • Team-oriented, adept at collaborating across functions
  • Ability to translate vision and strategy to actionable plans
  • Program and project management experience leading the full lifecycle with credibility to consult at all levels
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen
