Title: Automation Engineer
Duration: 9+ months (temp-hire potential!)
Location: Marion NC
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This project will involve upgrading the plant's 32 machines requiring drafting, validation testing, protocol writing, execution, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Displays standard engineering principles to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input.
Plans, schedules and leads project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures and criteria with minimal guidance.
This project will be focused on the implementation of new technology for visual inspection on, IV/ medication delivery bag fabrication machines.
Primary Responsibilities
Must have experience or advanced training and demonstrate proficiency (e.g. Investigations, problem solving, total quality management, statistical methods, DHF remediation, Risk file remediation, problem analysis and resolution, materials science, design of experiments etc.)
Good understanding of MDR remediation; extensive cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work.
Completely proficient in relevant products or process development processes.
Ability to organize and present technical and project management overviews without assistance.
Act independently with minimal supervision to conduct smaller approved projects. Expected to make suggestion on improvements based on recent technical knowledge.
Contribute to the planning and execution of components of the development process, which apply to product revision or enhancement or a defined piece of a larger project.
Ability to manage routine small projects without assistance.
Investigate and analyze customer service problems and design improvement suggestions. Recommend design improvements.
Qualifications:
3-5 years recent and related experience in upgrading manufacturing machines within a regulated environment; Allen Bradley Control Systems, PLC5, and Automation
Track record for successfully driving deliverables on time.
Technical skill (Software or other): Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint; Rockwell PLC experience; CAPA; Change control; TW8 system; SolidWorks
Preference is local candidates; however, manager is open to non-local candidates that can start within 2 to 3 weeks of offer. Must relocate into the area on their own time. It is a rural area.
Recent and relevant experience with Allen Bradley Control Systems and Automation Track record for successfully driving deliverable and meeting deadlines.
Track record for successfully driving deliverables on time.
Previous experience as a project lead, strongly preferred.

Knowledge of the basic principles in various engineering disciplines.
Must have initial training in concepts of ‘Six Sigma’ quality techniques.
Must know how to effectively run projects, coordinate contractors, and direct the activities of a technician
Ability to communicate with all levels of management on courses of action using both written and verbal methods.
Effectively work on cross-functional teams and facilitate with guidance.
Ability to read and write electrical schematics
Proven hands on mechanical skill set
SolidWorks drafting skills is a plus
Education / Experience:
B.S. Engineer (Discipline: Mechanical or Electrical, possibly Biomedical with the right experience)
3-5+ years related experience in upgrading manufacturing machines within a pharmaceutical manufacturing (strongly preferred) or another regulated environment.
