POSITION SUMMARY
CIIS takes pride in the close interaction and mutual support that characterizes its community. The Assistant Registrar must work smoothly to uphold the integrity of policies and procedures while being sensitive and attentive to requests for exceptions. The Assistant Registrar works with offices, academic directors and staff, and faculty to provide critical thinking and both pre-set and novel solutions to arising issues. This is a non-supervisory position, but is responsible for overseeing the office's student workers.
The Assistant Registrar reports to the Registrar, working collaboratively to fulfill and improve the office's functions. The major responsibilities include: reserving rooms for courses, updating scheduling information, and training university staff on class scheduling; fulfilling transcript requests; managing dissertation document flow; processing practicum, comprehensive exam, and independent study registrations; processing waitlists; processing leaves of absences; hiring, training, and directing the activities of the office's student workers; creating and archiving hard copy student files; helping refine and optimize office operations, communications, and initiatives; and various duties as assigned.

Working Conditions -- Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday through Friday.
